James' lonely life takes an unexpected turn when a robot dog from the future enlists his help to stop an evil professor from taking over the world, propelling them into an exhilarating series of time travel adventures.
THE STORY
After the disappearance of his mother, young inventor, James Miller, feels like he has only one friend in the world, his beloved golden retriever, Rex. But when a strange capsule lands in his backyard and a robot dog emerges, his life will never be the same.
The robot dog identifies himself as RoboRex and tells James that he has come from the future to stop the evil Professor Apocalypse, and his wily DestructoCat, from taking over the world.
Determined to save the world, and to find his mom, James embarks on a series of heroic and heart warming adventures through time. As they travel from the distant future to the old west, James discovers that RoboRex holds the key to finding his mother deep within his programing. Together, they travel to the time of the dinosaurs where James’ mother has been secretly gathering the supplies she needs to face an even greater threat, with the help of James and RoboRex.
THE CHARACTERS
James Miller is a shy, bright-eyed inventor who dreams of adventure. His small frame and love for science have made him an easy target for bullies at school, which only makes him feel like more of a loner. But all of that changes with the arrival of RoboRex, who immediately enlists him in a quest to save the world.
James’ quick thinking and mechanical know-how quickly become invaluable assets as they travel through time, battling Professor Apocalypse and and his wily robotoic DestructoCat.
RoboRex is a hyper-advanced robot created by James Miller in the future and sent back in time to save the world from Professor Apocalypse. With an array of complex future technology on board, RoboRex has the ability to disarm his opponents with a wide range of non-lethal weaponry and can evade threats by transforming into a jet pack or instantly teleporting from one location to another.
With the mind of a computer and a heart of gold, RoboRex becomes an irreplaceable companion to James on countless adventures.
Professor Apocalypse is a tyranical scientist from the future bent on world domination. However, in our time he hasn’t yet become his maniacal future self and is still the awkward and harebrained technical assistant, Randy Jenkins.
Randy’s aspirations for wealth and power, along with his dubious moral character, not only bring him into conflict with James and RoboRex, but with the goals of his future self.
With the powerful DestructoCat, Randy becomes both a formidable foe and his own worst enemy.
DestructoCat lives up to his name with a sonic meow that can blast through concrete.
Built by Professor Apolcalypse and sent back in time to help bring about world domination, DestructoCat has a singular mission that becomes complicated when Randy Jenkins enters the picture. As he was programmed to be completely obedient to his creator, when Randy’s goals begin to diverge from those of Professor Apocalypse, DestructoCat faces a perplexing conundrum that nearly fries his circuits.
Robert Miller is James’ father, and a dedicated police officer. When his wife, Kathryn, seemingly vanished into thin air, Robert spent all of his time investigating her disappearance.
After exhausting every available resourse, it became clear that this was a mystery he would never be able to solve, and rather than face his grief, Robert has buried himself in his work. He feels a growing distance between himself and James, but every attempt he makes to connect with his son seems to widen that gap.
Kara Reese is a precocious young explorer with a courageous heart and unflinching resolve. From a very young age, Kara felt her calling in life was investigative journalism and she has traveled around her neighborhood determined to right the wrongs of the world. In the midst of an editorial piece on bullying, she crosses paths with James Miller and they become fast friends.
Now with the arrival of robots from the future and the call to save the world, Kara’s fearlessness and sharp instincts make her an invaluable member of the team.
